Privacy Policy

MR. CUT Barbershop respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information collected through the MR. CUT Barbershop mobile applications (iOS and Android) and website.

1. Information We Collect

When you make or manage an appointment, we may collect:

• Your name
• Email address
• Mobile phone number and country code
• Selected service, barber, appointment date and time
• Optional notes provided for the barber
• Booking reference, status and booking history
• Basic technical information processed by our hosting providers, such as IP address, device or browser type and request time

The MR. CUT Barbershop mobile applications do not request access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos or files unless a future feature clearly requires and requests that permission.

MR. CUT Barbershop does not create customer accounts. Contact details are stored only in relation to individual appointments. A booking reference or booking-management token is not a user account or login credential.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected to:

• Create and manage appointments
• Send booking confirmations and status updates
• Allow customers to view, reschedule or cancel bookings
• Contact customers about their appointments
• Prevent duplicate or abusive booking activity
• Maintain the security and operation of the booking service
• Respond to customer questions, privacy requests or complaints

We do not use personal information for third-party advertising and we do not sell personal information.

3. Service Providers

We may use trusted service providers to operate the booking service, including website hosting, database storage, email delivery and technical infrastructure providers. These may include Vercel, Supabase and Resend.

These providers process information only as required to provide their services to us and are subject to their own security and privacy obligations.

We may also disclose information where required by New Zealand law or where reasonably necessary to protect customers, our business or our legal rights.

4. Data Storage and Retention

Booking information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to manage appointments, maintain business records, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations.

• Approximately 48 hours after a booking is completed, cancelled, declined or marked as no-show, customer notes, staff messages and booking-specific push-notification subscriptions are removed.
• Approximately 30 days after the booking is closed, the customer name, email address and phone number are deleted or anonymised.
• After anonymisation, we may retain a minimal non-personal business record such as the appointment date, service, price, barber and status where reasonably required for business or legal records.

Secure booking-management access is also revoked after a booking is closed and the short post-booking access period has ended.

5. Data Security

Information sent between the MR. CUT Barbershop mobile applications, website and our booking service is transmitted using HTTPS encryption. We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration.

No internet or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you may request access to or correction of personal information held about you. You may also request deletion of your booking information where we are not legally required to retain it.

To make a privacy or deletion request, email bookings@mrcutbarbershop.co.nz with the subject “Privacy Request” or “Data Deletion Request”. Include your booking reference and phone number so that we can verify the request. Do not send passwords or payment information.

7. Children’s Privacy

The MR. CUT Barbershop mobile applications are intended to be used by adults. Where a haircut or service is booked for a child, the booking should be made by a parent or legal guardian using the adult’s own contact information.

We do not knowingly ask children to create accounts or directly provide personal information.

8. External Services and Links

The MR. CUT Barbershop mobile applications may open external services such as Apple Maps or Google Maps, the device phone application, Instagram or the MR. CUT website, depending on the platform and action selected by the user. Those services operate under their own privacy policies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our mobile applications, website, services or legal obligations change. The latest version will be published on this page with its effective date.
